The truly great Divorce by simply C. S. Lewis shows that choices built on earth have got a consequential effect to our acknowledgement into paradise or our plummet in hell. Through this book satisfaction manifests by itself in a hundred subtle methods as spirits whine about perceived injustices or irrational motives. Thankfully, a few travelers do humble themselves, turn into transformed into wonderfully real creatures, and remain in heaven. Nevertheless most no longer, about which the great Scottish author George MacDonald, Lewis' heavenly guidebook, says, " They may not be rejecting the truth of heaven today. They may be reenacting the rejection they manufactured while on earth".
George MacDonald the narrator/teacher, from whom Lewis discovered inspiration to get his book, is the information in the voyage through the gates of nirvana. This provides great wisdom through the book that is not understood devoid of reflection. MacDonald in essence presents Lewis having a choice although journeying inside the gates of heaven. The stories of lost ghosts in the heavenly gates just provide reflection for Lewis' own choice. This options are not exposed by Lewis, rather it is up to the audience to make his/her own choice. MacDonald provides guidance toward our choice, " The choice of every shed soul can be expressed in the words, В‘Better to rule in Hell than serve in Paradise. ' You can something that they prefer to joy.... " (71). At one particular point in the book McDonald observes a ghost with Lewis and suggests that simple truth is a ongoing process, our life allonge for this truth. Although we may not all realize truth due to lack of time, Lewis suggests it's just a matter of obtaining the truth through good use of time. " Evil can be undone, but it are not able to В‘develop' in to good. Time does not treat it" (Preface: VIII). Period is in substance, if perhaps found in the way of real leisure, a God presented tool for overcoming evil and getting the truth of heaven.
